Matt Groening Just Got a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

This is a big week for creator of The Simpsons Matt Groening. Yesterday Groening made headlines for his sizable donation to UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television. Today Groening has been honored with a star on Hollywood Boulevard. His star is the 2,459th star to be placed on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, just a few steps away from Hank Azaria’s star. Azaria, as you may know, is the voice of a multitude Springfield residents including Comic Book Guy, Apu, Carl and Chief Wiggum.
Matt Groening started publishing Life In Hell in 1977, created The Simpsons (who got their own show in 1989), created Futurama which began airing in 1999 and picked up 12 Emmy Awards along the way. The 500th episode of The Simpsons airs on Sunday.
