I saw on Autoblog today that the witch hunt against the Chevy Volt just won’t end.  As you all may know, a Chevrolet Volt caught fire on an NHTSA lot three weeks after its crash test in May of last year.  No repairs were made to the Volt and the battery had not been discharged or disconnected as it would be following an actual collision.  The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration didn’t tell the public about the fire for several months citing that more research had to be done before they could determine the cause of the fire and whether or not it posed a threat to motorists.  The NHTSA released a report of its findings concluding that electric vehicles posed no greater fire risk than their gasoline counterparts and that there is no danger of Volts catching fire under normal circumstances.  Of course that didn’t stop House Republicans from seeing a conspiracy.  Read More…
